Commissioned agents are people who sell your products for a commission or a percentage of the selling price. Commissioned agents do not usually handle your products instead they usually refer purchase orders to the company and are paid their commission on the sale. Commissioned agents must be highly motivated and professional because if they sell nothing they are paid nothing. Commissioned agents are an established marketing channel in the USA for many types of products and services, they are at the moment less prevalent in Europe.
