Conversion is a term widely used for a number of aspects in business. Sales people may talk of converting enquiries into orders. Website managers may talk of converting hits
into enquiries or if e-tailing into orders. Brand managers may talk of the conversion of other brand customers to their own as conversions when they succeed in persuading people to switch brands.
