Moving average: defined by the Sticky-Marketing.com monthly magazine |
|
A moving average is sometimes used to smooth graphs of sales or orders to present trend lines so a line representing perhaps the average of 4 past months could be plotted to
overlay actual sales. Over a longer time period this moving average may reveal trends more than the actual and perhaps fluctuating data.
