Multiple Sourcing is the practice of buying in items from more than one source to reduce the risk of production or sales being disrupted from any problems that may take place in the supply chain. Typical in manufacturing industry where items being bought are relatively easy to multiple source (electronic components for example) and where a shortage of the items could be catastrophic for production.
