A Need is the basic demand that marketing organisations are trying to identify and then tailor their supply to. A need is similar to a want and may be a necessity or may be a luxury item depending only on what the target public feels its needs are and on which set of needs the marketing organisation are focussing on. Consumers for example have a need for personal transport but there are many different solutions available to them from a variety of providers.
